Classical Pilates With Rikke

Rikke hails from Copenhagen, Denmark and came to study here in 1997.  Many years and three children later, she’s still here.

Rikke has a unique insight into the rehabilitative powers of Yoga and Pilates. Having practiced for general fitness through her twenties, Rikke came to employ these disciplines when in the 34th week of her first pregnancy she suffered a stroke that paralysed her along her left side. It was during her recuperation that Rikke was moved to gain a better understanding of the body’s mechanics which set her on the path to ultimately becoming a Pilates instructor. She went on to make a full recovery and enjoy two subsequent event-free pregnancies.

Rikke’s knowledge combined with her patience and infectious passion for Pilates makes her a highly sought after instructor. Whether teaching a class or private session, Rikke is renowned for her cheerful outlook and inspiring attitude. When it comes to Pilates she enjoys nothing more than seeing her clients build strength they never believed possible.

Ever driven to learn more about Pilates, Rikke continues to attend workshops for Instructors and her first-hand experience of the vital importance of women’s health in pregnancy motivated her to study pre- and postnatal Pilates.

Currently Rikke is studying the Comprehensive Pilates Program under Kirk James Smith at the Classical Pilates Centre in Bollington. Having taught her own classes and Prenatal and Postnatal Pilates with the yoga rooms it only felt natural to open up her own studio on 10 Gawsworth Avenue.

Chris teaches Qigong and Tai-Chi to groups and individuals in Manchester, UK and Ibiza, Spain, depending on the time of the year. These arts have given him so much personally that he decided to make sharing them a part of his career path.

He likes to see what he offers as a set of tools and skills that can definitely help make a positive difference for just about anyone. He enjoys sharing what he knows with whomever is interested in making a positive change in their life. Through Qigong and Tai Chi he has been able to help people find relief from a number of conditions including arthritis, chronic fatigue sydrome, fibromyralgia, multiple sclerosis, respiratory conditions, anxiety and depression as well as mitigating the stress of modern life and helping people to rediscover the joy in having a body. He also organize retreats and workshops across Europe, hosting his own teachers and facilitating access to world class instruction in the Taoist Arts.

Kundalini Yoga With Salina

Kundalini is a unique style of yoga combining mostly dynamic or flowing movements, breathing techniques, meditation & mantra. It is excellent for boosting energy & overall health, while giving you space to relax and unwind. It is great for elevating mood, releasing stress and improving sleep.

It promotes physical and psychological healing, and helps to cultivate mental clarity and emotional balance. Sometimes referred to as the 'Yoga of Awareness', it creates space for you to explore your inner world and connect more deeply to your Self. Classes are varied, rejuvenating and uplifting! A different soundtrack each week helps to enhance your experience of the practice, and will support you in going deeper into relaxation and meditation during the session. Much of the focus is on the energetic body and on working with the chakras.
